FAQ
Please consider these questions as you shop for your new swimming pool as it is a big investment. Write down your priorities and let these priorities be your compass or guideline as you seek to have the pool of your dreams for you and your family.
If you are solely price-motivated, then you likely don’t need a bunch of estimates. To be honest, we’ve had our share of pool shoppers tell us their biggest concern is getting the lowest price, to which we have to respond, we probably aren’t the pool company for them. Simply because it is nearly impossible to be the lowest priced contractor and provide the best workmanship and quality, which is what we strive for in each and every project we do.
Plaster has been the dominant pool surface for decades, aggregate and tile surface have become a new trend. Tile mosaics, Pebbletec and more recently Glass Tile, provide the artistic flexibility many luxury pool owners seek nowadays. With the addition of natural stone pavers and rock waterfalls, we can help a pool blend into a modern but natural landscape.
When planning your ideal pool, list everything you’d like to include, even if your budget does not permit building it now. It can be something to plan for the future. Some things to consider include a pool house, outdoor kitchen, fire pit, outdoor shower, swim-up bar, and/or gazebo. It is much cheaper to accommodate future plans in your original design than to modify your poolscape later on. For example, if you know you’ll be adding a firepit or outdoor kitchen at a later date, it’s best to run the gas lines to those areas of the poolscape in the beginning, which eliminates the need to tear up the deck and surrounding landscape at a later date.
To maximize enjoyment of your pool, even when you’re not swimming, you can incorporate water features and lighting. Based on how you plan to use your pool, you may also want to consider underwater benches, a spa, shallow beach-style entries, a swim-up bar or even a fun water slide.
Luxury pool experts suggest choosing a shape and style that compliments the architecture of the home and landscape. However, if you are set on a pool design that doesn’t match the home’s architecture, you may simply incorporate a transition area from the home to the pool, through the use of walkways and plantings. Landscaping usually makes a great transition.
Usually your City/County will recommend if a soil test needs to be conducted to confirm if the site is suitable for pool construction. Sandy, Expansive or Rocky Soil and other ground factors may present unique building concerns.
